“Periodic Maintenance” specifies certain periodic inspection intervals and suggested periodic adjustment or replacement of the parts and components that can be anticipated to undergo these changes with time or use.

Service Interval

The service interval, which specifies when service is necessary, is determined by the distance indicated by the odometer or by the period of time which has passed since the previous servicing.

The “severe” schedule should be followed if the vehicle is mainly operated under one or more of the conditions below.

Normal and Severe Conditions

If a vehicle is used under severe conditions, the normal service interval for the affected maintenance may need to be shortened.

Towing a trailer, using a camper or car top carrier
Operating on dusty, rough, muddy or salt spread roads
Repeated short trips of less 8kms
Extensive idling and/or low speed driving for long distances such as police, taxi or door-to-door delivery
